Police: Missing Lansing mother found, arraigned after newborn baby found dead

(WXYZ) — The Lansing mother reported missed last week has been found and arrested, according to a Facebook post by Lansing Police.

Ashley Rae Shade, was arraigned Thursday in 54-A District Court for failure to appear in court on a previous assault and battery charge in a 2016 case. Shade's bond was set at $11,000 cash/surety.

She is due back in court on April 9 at 10:30 a.m.

On March 19, the Lansing Police Department located the vehicle of reported missing person Ashley Rae Shade parked in the 100 block of E. Kilborn St. Tragically located inside of the vehicle was the female newborn infant, deceased. No other people were located with the vehicle.
