MACOMB COUNTY (WXYZ) — Police in Chesterfield were able to take a suspect into custody following a vehicle and foot pursuit on Monday.
Chesterfield Township police identified a suspect in a stolen vehicle who is also accused of retail fraud from a local Target store. When officer tried stopping the suspect, he fled.
The suspect exited I-94 in Macomb County and the attempted to get back on the freeway during the pursuit but got back on in the wrong direction, leading to a crash with another vehicle on eastbound I-94 after Harper Road.
The suspect fled from the crashed vehicle, initiating a foot pursuit where officer were able to detain him. The victim in crash sustained minor injuries.
