Police release photo of suspect in fatal stabbing of woman on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police have released a photo of a suspect accused in the fatal stabbing of a woman while medics administered CPR to a 50-year-old man in another room in the same home.

The fatal stabbing happened Sept. 21 around 9:30 p.m. in the 80 block of W. Arizona St.

According to a release, Emergency Medical Technicians arrived to the home on a call for an unresponsive man. While medics were performing CPR, the suspect, 26-year-old Darius Calhoun, allegedly took a woman into a bedroom and stabbed her to death.

Calhoun then fled the scene on foot, police say.

The 50-year-old man being given CPR eventually died from what police are natural causes. The medical examiner will determine the exact cause.

Police describe Darius Calhoun as 5 feet 11 inches tall, medium-brown complexion and weighing 250 pounds. He has brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.
