(WXYZ) — Livonia police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a Taco Bell on Merriman Road Dec. 15. Officers say the robbery is similar to other recently reported fast food robberies in Oakland County which have also occurred in Milford, Independence Township and Auburn Hills.

The robbery of the Livonia Taco Bell at 11707 Merriman Road happened just before 10 a.m. on Dec. 15.

Employees told police that the suspect entered the restaurant wearing a mask and implying that he had a gun. He then demanded money.

After getting a small amount of cash from the business, the suspect fled the scene.

Investigators later were able to identify the suspect's vehicle as an older model maroon Ford Explorer with gray bottom trim and running boards.

The men fled the scene on foot after taking about $200 from the register. They were headed east on General Motors Road before getting into a dark colored, older model SUV with loud exhaust and heading west.

Police describe one suspect in his 50s and a younger suspect believed to be in his early 20s. Police say both suspects were wearing ski masks with the upper portion of their faces exposed.
