Police search for driver in deadly hit-and-run in Sterling Heights

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Sterling Heights police are searching for the driver in a deadly hit-and-run that happened Sunday evening. It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Dequindre Rd. near Metro Parkway.

According to police, the call came in that a man was down and possibly hit by a car. Police took the victim, a 45-year-old from Sterling Heights, to Beaumont Troy Hospital where he died.

Investigation reveals that the victim crossed the road from a plaza and was hit by a vehicle going northbound. The area where the hit-and-run happened was unlit and without a crosswalk.

Police say the suspect's vehicle is a 2017 or 2018 black Jeep Grand Cherokee.
