Police search for driver involved in fatal hit-and-run on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit Police need help identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run on the city's west side.

On March 15 around 2:10 a.m., a 29-year-old male victim was crossing the street in the area of Linwood near Lawrence, when he was hit by the driver of an unknown dark-colored SUV traveling northbound on Linwood.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.

The vehicle may have some front end accident damage.

The family plans to hold a candlelight vigil at 7:30 p.m. at the place where the man on Linwood and Lawrence, where the man was struck.
