WYANDOTTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Wyandotte police are eager to catch an armed robber, and the key to finding him may be his car and the tattoo on his hand.

Police say the armed robber was calculated while lurking outside until the clerk was out of the secured area to make his move. His hoodie was pulled tight and clinched around his face as he threatens her to stay back.

"She was terrified," said Deputy Chief Archie Hamilton. "He struck a gun to her head, demanded money (and) scared her to death."

This happened around 2 a.m. early in October, and Wyandotte police now need your help trying to identify this brazen robber. They're hoping someone will recognize his tattoo, located on his right hand. The description of the suspect is vague. Police say he's a black man with a dark colored hoodie and black jeans, but someone may be able to connect him to the white car he got away in that may have some minor front end damage.

"Right now, that vehicle, we know it's most likely not his vehicle," Hamilton said. "And we need to figure out if the owner of that vehicle is either a suspect or a witness."

Thankfully the clerk kept her cool and quickly locked the doors once the robber left. Then she called 911.

The armed robber's vehicle went north on Biddle. He then continued onto Jefferson and was careful not to draw attention to himself by using his turn signals and not speeding.

"As of right now he thinks he got away with it so he's probably planning his next robbery," Hamilton said.
