WESTLAND (WXYZ) — Several police have blocked entrances to Westland Mall after reports of shots being fired. A preliminary investigation found that an altercation at a perfume store inside the mall led to gunfire.
Westland police say the shooting did not appear to be an active shooter situation.
Employees told police that two or three men began arguing and one man pulled a hand gun and fired two shots at another man. Then all men involved fled the mall on foot.
There were no injuries and there is no immediate threat at the mall, police said.
Westland officers were joined by other law enforcement agencies in a search for the suspects and to secure the scene.
