PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — A job fair being held in Pontiac Tuesday aims to fill hundreds of positions at a cannabis park to be built at Glenwood Plaza.

The proposal, which is pending city approval, would develop a Cannabis park in the back of the plaza, as well as a grocery store and future shopping center, according to a release.

The job fair is hosted by Rubicon Capital and Pharmaco Inc., and will be held at the old K-Mart distribution center at 43 S. Glenwood Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We are committed to the city of Pontiac and want to do all possible to increase commerce and create jobs in this city which is on the comeback trail," said Manni Feraiuolo of Rubicon Capital.

According to a release, the park will house a cultivation center and processing facility, which will need 300 to 400 workers to operate – both full- and part-time positions.

The company behind the development, Pharmco Inc., aims to hire veterans and people with cannabis-related felonies or misdemeanors. Workers will also be trained for jobs with training fees waived. Hourly pay will range between $15 to $18 per hour. Positions also come with medical, dental and vision benefits.

You must be at least 21 to apply.
