PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — Residents in a Pontiac apartment complex are getting help from the mayor of the city after their heat was turned off for the second time in two weeks.

Residents reported that their heat was out at the University Place Apartments, 123 University Pl Dr., after management failed to pay the utility bill despite promising that it was covered in the price of rent.

Heat was turned back on after a few hours, but turned back off the morning of Friday, Jan. 25, due to a boiler break.

Mayor Deirdre Waterman then paid for residents to stay in a local hotel Saturday night so that they would have a warm place.
