PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 50-year-old woman was assaulted and punched while she was walking in Pontiac, according to the Oakland County Sheriff.

In the 800 block of Baldwin Road, the victim told deputies that while she was walking, a man grabbed her from behind, forced her to the ground and dragged her into the bushes.

Police say the suspect then demanded that the victim perform a sexual act on him. She refused. Police say she was held to the ground as the suspect began to assault her by punching her in the face. She managed to break free and ran to a nearby residence for help.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction, taking the victim's phone with him.

The victim is in stable condition and is hospitalized with facial injuries.

Robert George McClintock was arraigned Tuesday and charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct, a 10-year felony, and Unarmed Robbery, a 15-year felony.
