More than a dozen beaches in Michigan are contaminated with Bacteria. The state has closed some and issued advisories about others.
There are 11 closures and advisories at this time.
According to the Macomb County Health Department, beach closures in Macomb County have gone done in the last few years.
Between 2015 and 2016 they saw a reduction in almost 50-percent of beach closing days.
There's no specific reason why so much bacteria has been found. The department says it can be anything from animal waste to sewer overflows.
The health department says you should never swim after two days of heavy rain.
