DETROIT (WXYZ) — President Donald Trump thanked Fiat Chrysler after the automotive company announced it would be building a new assembly plant in Detroit in addition to investing in existing plants, adding more than 6,500 jobs.

The president tweeted about the new investment early Wednesday morning.

"Thank you Fiat Chrysler," he said. "They are all coming back to the USA, it's where the action is!"

FCA announced its plans for a new plant Tuesday, adding that it would invest in five existing Michigan plants.
