On Monday morning, Ford announced they are investing $1.2 billion in three Michigan plants.
Here's the breakdown, according to Ford:
At the Michigan Assembly Plant, $850 million will be used to retool the plant as new builds of the Ford Ranger and Ford Bronco begin in the next couple of years.
For the Romeo Engine Plant, about $150 million will be used to add tooling and expand the facility's capacity to build engines components for several vehicles including the Ranger and Bronco. The investment will reportedly create 130 jobs at the plant.
Ford says $200 million will also be used to build the second of two advanced data centers in Michigan. The center will help handle the company's data storage needs as mobility services grow.
That data center will be located at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant which is getting $700 million invested announced earlier this year.
