The burglar broke into a condo in Detroit to steal anything of value.

He left with the newest member of the family: an 11-month-old puppy named Onyx.

Portia Powell says she confronted the guy as he was halfway inside a front window.

They came face to face and she ran to the bedroom to get her gun.

“I’m a licensed carrier. He wasn’t fittin’ to leave,” Portia said.

She didn’t get a good look at the guy.

She described him as black, mid-20s, wearing a black hoodie over a ball cap.

Powell is afraid Onyx will be sold and her 11-year-old daughter Jada won’t every see him again.
