CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Chesterfield Township couple isn't letting quarantine stand in the way of their love for each other.
"We were not going to let this virus dictate when and where we could get married," Mike Stabnick told WXYZ.
Mike Stabnick married Amy at their home Tuesday evening, with just a few of their kids by their sides and a friend to officiate.
The couple donned their best outfits and suited up with masks before saying "I do."
Mike told WXYZ the couple had resigned to the idea of postponing the wedding and had a Zoom meeting with family to toast their original wedding date April 4. But they couldn't shake the thought of having to wait.
"I did not want this virus to ruin the one thing I really wanted the most and that was to have Amy as my wife," said Mike Stabnick.
This is the second marriage for both Mike and Amy and they each have two kids, some who attended the wedding via video call.
Congratulations, Mike and Amy.
