Three men have been charged in the shooting death of a 3-year-old girl on Easter, according to an indictment unsealed Monday in Wayne County Court.

Paul Kendall, 24, Reginald Street, 19, and Jonathan Burks, 30, are all charged with First Degree Murder, Felony Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, First Degree Home Invasion, Discharge of a Firearm in a Building Causing Death and Felony Firearm. Both Street and Burks are also charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

According to the indictment, three three men went into the home in the 16800 block of Riverview around 2 a.m. on March 27 and fired shots that killed 3-year-old A'naiya Denise Montgomery. A 39-year-old man and 26-year-old man were also shot but survived.

"We probably would not have been able to charge this case if not for having the grand jury. In this office, we use this process thoughtfully, carefully and discreetly," Prosecutor Kym Worthy said.
