A wild encounter was caught on camera at a gas station on Detroit’s east side, when a customer trashed the inside of the store for nearly an hour.

It happened early Thursday morning at the Marathon station at the corner of Davison and McNicols.

The woman was attempting to buy a cigar when she became angry. You can see her walk backwards from the clerk’s counter and then begin pulling items off shelves.

She gets on a counter at one point, she kicks the microwave, then gets down and pulls down the cappuccino machine.

She is laughing and talking through most of the video. She proceeds to pull nearly all the shelves down.

The clerk locked her inside, while waiting for police to arrive.

Once Detroit police officers arrived, she began yelling at them, even poking at one.  It takes them nearly a half an hour to take her into custody as she continues trashing the store.

Police tell 7 Action News she was taken to the hospital for a psychological evaluation.

She will likely face charges for malicious destruction of property.
