Detroit church seeks help getting roof repaired

Posted

A Detroit church has been dealing with roof issues for years - even though they hired a contractor to take care of the problems.

They want the leaks to stop once in for all - so they called us.

The owners of Bethel Church of the Apostolic Faith in Detroit say they called contractors to fix their roof back in 2012, but ever since they have been having constant leaks.

They say recently they tried getting in contact the contractors with no luck, so they called us for some help.

Water stains, droopy ceiling panels, plaster peeled off and drywall cracks can be seen throughout the church.

Deacon Kenneth Lowery says the roof has been a problem for years and it’s not getting any better.

In November of 2012 members of the church hired Tidwell Construction to make roof repairs. Deacon Lowery says they did, but when they left they didn’t take all the problems with them.

According to their contract, the church has a 5-year warranty for repairs.

We reached out to the contractor. He says he’ll take care of it within the next two-weeks.

If Tidwell Construction does not come within two-weeks to fix the roof, you can bet we will be calling them again.

In the meantime the Deacon says he still has to figure out a way to pay for all that ceiling damage.
