Emergency crews made a disturbing discovery early Tuesday morning on Detroit's west side.
Firefighters were called to the area of Poplar and 23rd, not far from I-96 & Buchanan, just before 3:30 a.m.
They found a body burning in a field. It's unclear if the victim was a man or a woman.
Nearly two dozen investigators and officers are on scene continuing their investigation and they haven't released many details.
We're told that the victim doesn't live in the area and a police officer driving by discovered the body after seeing smoke.
