City of Detroit's new app to help residents report issues

Posted

The city of Detroit is pushing a new smartphone app called "Improve Detroit" that they say will get the city to respond to neighborhood issues quickly.

Calvin Radd lives in the city and has been one of the residents who petitioned the city for help on its app.

You can write the city about junk, potholes or any neighborhood nuisance. You can even take a picture of the issue, upload it on your phone and send it to the city.

The city says they'll respond within 48 hours for potholes, a few days for trash and other issues.

Nearly 70,000 issues have been resolved in the two years since its inception.
