Detroit-area post offices to begin offering Sunday holiday hours

Several Detroit-area post offices will have Sunday retail hours for the three Sundays prior to Christmas, beginning Sunday, December 3.

“We realize as the holidays get closer, opening on Sundays will help our customers with stamp purchases as well as mailing their holiday cards and packages,” says Lee Thompson, district manager.   

“We expect to deliver an estimated 15 billion cards, letters and packages nationwide this year, and we’re hoping that opening retail operations on Sundays will help smooth the process,” she added.

The following post offices will be open Sundays Dec. 3., Dec. 10 and Dec 17:

With increased mail volume, the U.S. Postal Service will be delivering parcels daily and outside of regular delivery hours.
