Detroit block party draws families to west side neighborhood

Posted

The Fourth of July is filled with fun, sun, games and more across the country, but on Monday, families attended a Detroit block party on the city's west side.

The party was put on by Arlisha Holt, who just started the non-profit organization Helping Others Live Together. They pumped about $10,000 into the block party.

It featured bouncy houses, carnival rides, food, drinks and more. It goes on all day, and ends with fireworks a little later in the night.

They are asking anyone with nothing to do to come down to the 22000 block of Kessler, which is south of McNichols on Lahser, and have a great time!
