Same man keeps robbing Detroit gas station

A gas station owner on Detroit's west side is looking for help to stop a thief who has robbed his store dozens of times over the past few years.

Surveillance video of one instance shows the man placing a rock at the front door of the gas station on Warren, and then grabbing whatever he can.

It happened twice within 45 minutes early Tuesday morning, the man coming back the second time with a bag.

The owner and customers are nervous because they don't know what will happen next. They claim a few weeks ago, he robbed a man at gunpoint in front of the store.

The owner tells us he's instructed his employees to stay behind the register and not leave the back.

Steven Hakim says, "We don't want to lose a worker over $50-$100. We just want this guy caught."

Hakim says it's starting to add up. The same guy strikes week after week. He says they've called police, and they're hoping they can stop this guy before he strikes again--or targets another location.

Just hours after our report originally aired, the store was robbed again. However, 7 Action News is being told that this time the suspect is a different man.
