Detroit police arrested a man after a search through midtown Detroit for a gas station shooting suspect on Tuesday morning.

It happened when an officer patrolling the area spotted the man. He pulled over and asked the suspect his name, and the suspect took off.

Police set up a perimeter in the Midtown area near Temple and Cass after they lost sight of him. Eventually, they found the 20-year-old in an abandoned building right in the middle of the perimeter.

Police originally said he was a suspect in the shooting. However, later it was determined that he was not a suspect. He was held on an unrelated warrant.

Two people are wanted in connection with a shooting at the gas station on Aug. 3. The suspects and a victim allegedly got into a verbal argument with each other when one of them fired shot and hit the victim in the leg.

Police are still searching for the primary suspect and a 14-year-old who was with him.
