Timothy Gomez was arrested Sunday afternoon near the corner I-96 and Martin Luther King Blvd.

Police say he was driving a stolen vehicle, swerving in and out of traffic at over 100 miles per hour.

Gomez stood still in front of a Wayne County judge this morning, after running away from police yesterday.

Gomez was clocked at 110 miles per hour on i-96 yesterday afternoon then exited at MLK, ditched his car - which police say was stolen - and lead police on a foot chase.

Gomez was then taken into custody after canine’s sniffed him out inside an abandoned home on Detroit’s west side.

7 Action News reporter Jonathan Carlson was at the scene when police made the arrest.

Gomez is now facing several felonies.

Gomez also had several outside warrants and was given a $15,000 bond.
