A family is talking after someone shot at their house Wednesday night.

A mother was shot in the leg and her 3-day old baby was grazed in the head.

Police say it happened on Maddelein Street around 10:00 p.m.

Lakita Lamb says she and her four boys were visiting their grandmother’s house when bullets started flying through the house.

"I'm so glad my babies were so smart. As soon as they heard the shots they started crawling,” Lamb says.

The grandmother says she was sleeping in her room when she heard the noise.

"I come back in my daughter’s screaming, he's running with the baby blood just everywhere. I never want to experience this again another day in my life," Laura Lamb says.

"I didn't realize it until I laid on the floor. We had the lights out and the floor was slippery and I felt it," Lamb says that’s when she noticed she had been shot.

Sirmear is expected to be there for a week while they monitor bleeding.

No suspect information has been released.
