Detroit was just named the Least Healthy City in the US.
Out of 150 cities in the US, Detroit was dead last and that has some Detroiters questioning the results.
Abe Algohaim said, "It's unhealthy? Oh no, I disagree."
Many people are shocked to learn a new study shows Detroit as the Least Healthy City in the US.
WalletHub ranked 150 cities based on a variety of factors and puts Motown dead last when it comes to good health.
They factored obesity rates and access to nutritious, healthy foods and restaurants. They also took into consideration medical costs and the number of mental health counselors and dietitians per capita.
Another factor: the number of gyms and bike and walking trails.
Derek Glowacki, a cyclist, doesn't necessarily disagree with the study, but says Detroit is heading in the right direction.
He said, "The River Walk and the green way coalition are putting in hundreds of miles of bike trails, like Michigan Avenue has a new protected bike lane."
Richard Allison agreed. "I look at a lot of people and they look like they are in shape. Most people look like they are fit and people are doing stuff to keep healthy. I've seen people at the gym. I see a lot of people at the gym."
Some say there is more to good health than what the survey considered.
Abe believes having a positive attitude is healthy too.
San Francisco was named the healthiest city.
