Construction and testing of the trackwork were completed this week, which allowed for the reopening three days ahead of schedule.
A busy weekend in Detroit that includes GM River Days and Tigers game, as well as the fireworks on Monday, will leave the People Mover packed.
The schedule will stay the same, with it running Monday - Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to midnight, Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to midnight.
