Detroit police hunt for suspect in sexual assault of a 62-year-old woman

Detroit Police are on the hunt for a man who terrorized a community after violently attacking one of its own. 

Neighbors tell 7 Action News they woke up Friday morning to police lights and crime scene tape. When residents found out why, they were instantly in fear.

“It’s just scary.  It’s crazy to know somebody is running around doing this. I’m shook to the none,” says Jevonda Robertson. 

Police say a 62-year-old woman was sexually assaulted inside her home on  Stringham Court. It’s on the city’s east side. 

The suspect entered from a downstairs bedroom window and climbed the stairs to another bedroom on the second floor.

Investigators say he told the woman he was armed. We’re also told the suspect stole two of the victim’s cellphones and some cash.

He’s described as a black male of light complexion. He is said to be in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds. Detectives say he was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.
