A Detroit police officer is recovering after being injured in an early morning crash.
Investigators say the officer and his partner were making a routine traffic stop on Grand River, near the Motor City Casino, early Saturday morning when another vehicle crashed into their cruiser, pinning the officers.
One of the officers suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital. The other was not hurt. Alcohol did playa part in this crash. The sergeant at the scene told Action News that the driver who hit the officers blew a point-one-two. Charges are expected soon.
