DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are hoping a surveillance camera picture can help them track down a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery and sexual assault.

Police say shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, the man entered a dollar store in the 20400 block of Van Dyke on the city's east side. He approached the counter and acted like he was going to purchase something. He then produced a gun and forced the two female employees into the office.

The man demanded money from the safe and tills.

Police say he then sexually assaulted both women.

The women were then able to escape and the man ran from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as about 5'5". He was last seen wearing a black top with a hood, blue khaki pants that are similar to uniform pants and bright white shoes.

If anyone can identify the man, they are asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit at 313-596-1950 or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
