While searching for illegal scrappers in an abandoned building on Detroit's east side, 7 Action News reporter Ronnie Dahl came across a small, white dog shivering in the corner.

When they tried to rescue the little guy, he got away.

Mike Diesel with Detroit Youth & Dog Rescue came out and set a trap. "Gunner the Runner" as he was named was able to avoid the trap for several days.

On Sunday, Gunner was found in the trap and is now safe. After getting checked out by a vet, Gunner will be fostered until a permanent home is found.
