A dog that was rescued in a house fire on Saturday morning in Detroit is back with its owner after help from 7 Action News.
The house, which was thought to be abandoned, went up in flames on Saturday morning on the city's west side. Fire crews rescued the dog, which they thought was also abandoned.
We're told a woman had just recently bought the home, and put the dog in the house overnight because people were stealing the piping inside. When the house went up in flames, the dog was trapped.
7 Action News reached out to various animal groups to help find him a temporary home, but the dog's owner contacted Detroit fire and was reunited with him on Sunday.
