Family of 6 escapes burning home, says arsonist had to have targeted the wrong house

The daughter of 41-year-old Helena Janik says whoever threw a firebomb into the family's house in southwest Detroit Sunday night had to have targeted the wrong house.

Loved ones say Janik, her four children, and the children's father, 47-year-old Anthony Pittman, don't have any issues with anyone.

It happened late Sunday night in the family's Otis Street home.

All six were transported to local hospitals where they remained late Monday afternoon.

Also injured in the fire were the couple's children, 4-year-old Aidan, 6-year-old Devon, 16-year-old Anthony, and 18-year-old Devin.

Anyone with information on the arson is urged to call the Arson Unit of the Detroit Fire Department;
