The fifth annual Light Up the Riverfront kicks off Riviere28's Summer Series at Gabriel Richard Park on June 17.
Riviere28 is an auxiliary group within the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, and plans fun events throughout the summer for people who live, work or want to play in the city of Detroit.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Gabriel Richard Park, and tickets for the event are $25 and available online at DetroitRiverfront.org.
It features BBQ, bonfires, music from DJ Emmett Burkes and lawn games like life-size Jenga and more.
Profits from Light Up the Riverfront will support the RiverWalk, Dequindre Cut Greenway, as well as other parks, plazas and greenways associated with it.
If you are going to the event, you can bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
