Henry the Hatter will return to Detroit with a new location in Eastern Market.

The new store will be located on 2472 Riopelle St.

Owner Paul Wasserman was forced to close the company's longtime location in downtown Detroit back in June due to rising rental prices.

Founded in 1893, Henry the Hatter is the oldest hat retailer in the United States.

In addition to the new store, there is another Henry the Hatter store located in Southfield.

The new Detroit store will be twice the size of the downtown location and will use the original shelves.  Historic photos will line the walls.

"Same great hats, different floor plan," said Wasserman. "It will be a visual experience that people will hopefully come in and enjoy whether they buy something or not," said Wasserman.

Wasserman said he's hoping to open the new Detroit store by late November.
