A 9-year-old girl from Highland Park has died after drowning in a suburban Chicago hotel pool, 7 Action News has learned.
According to WLS, the girl was found around 6 p.m. Saturday at the Double Tree Hotel in Alsip, which is about 25 miles south of Chicago.
She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.
Witnesses tell WLS she was in the area participating in a cheerleading competition. Foul play is not suspected.
