Detroit police are investigating after a homeless woman was stabbed early Wednesday morning on Detroit's Riverwalk.

According to police, it happened on the Riverwalk near Washington Blvd. and the Detroit Princess around 4 a.m.

The 25-year-old woman said the suspect approached her and stabbed her for no apparent reason.

She suffered at least two stab wounds, one to the right of her neck and the other to the right side of her head. She was taken to the hospital and listed in temporary serious condition.

The officer then responded to the area of Woodward and Jefferson where a second victim, an 86-year-old homeless man, suffered a gash to the back of his head.

The victim is an elderly Hispanic man who was intoxicated and couldn't express himself. Right now, they can't determine if the victim was assaulted or sustained his injury after a fall.

The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, 5-feet-7 with a skinny build and white t-shirt.
