The man accused of raping a teenager in a vacant Detroit home a few weeks ago, was officially charged in 36th District Court.

Thirty-five-year old Jovon Boykins was quiet as he heard the charges.

He was officially charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping, for attacking an 18-year-old two weeks ago. Prosecutors say it happened on July 10th.

The 18-year-old woman apparently got into a fight with her boyfriend, left his car, and started walking near Hubbell and Plymouth.

Police say Boykins offered the woman a ride and she got in.

He drove her to a vacant home on Foley, where investigators say she was held against her will and raped.

7 Action News talked to a few Good Samaritans yesterday, who spotted the suspect after seeing a Crime Stoppers report, that led to his arrest.

His bond was set at $250k. He's scheduled back in court on August 4th.
