As Detroit city inspectors crack down on graffiti, innocent victims are getting caught in the middle, including a struggling church on the city's east side
The New Galilee Spiritual Church recently was issued a blight warning from a city inspector for graffiti someone painted on the side of the church. Church leaders were given so much time to remove the graffiti, or risk getting a ticket. A ticket it couldn't afford.
7 Action News reached out to My Graffiti Removal Guy. Within an hour, he stopped by the church. When the weather was right, he returned and painted over the graffiti, free of charge.
"When you have a business, and you can get out and help someone, see the feeling you get from it." Bobby Sheppard told Action News.
