Detroit police are investigating after a man was injured when he stepped on an explosive Sunday morning on the city's west side.
According to police, the 28-year-old man said he was walking through a vacant field in the 5200 block of Florida when he hear four loud explosions. That's near I-94 and Central Ave.
The man told police he felt pain in his left foot and was taken to the hospital in temporary serious condition. Police say a thin piece of metal was found in the victim's foot that went through his boot.
Bomb Squad was on scene investigating and found the area of detonation. Along with the ATF and FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, they searched for other explosive devices.
According to police, they have identified a suspect, and that person is cooperating with authorities to help locate other devices.
