3 shootings kill one, injure five, including 4-year-old child on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating three separate shootings.

The first scene is at Whitcomb and Elmira, near Plymouth and Greenfield. Police say a 28-year-old and his 4-year-old son have been shot at that scene. The four-year-old was shot int he leg and is in serious condition. His father is fighting for his life. Police believe they know who the suspect is.

The second scene is at W. Outer Drive and Greenfield, where three men have been shot. The victims are all African American. A 22-year-old and a 24-year-old are in critical condition. A 23-year-old is in temporary serious condition. Police say the suspect may have opened fire from an older Dodge Durango.

The third scene is at Leander and French Roads, on the city's east side. Police received a call about a dead body around 8:45 p.m. Responding units found the body of an African American in his 30s. Police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to come forward.

Police say the shootings are not related. The west side shooting scenes are more than 3 miles apart from each other.

No other information has been released.
