One man dead after boating accident on Detroit River

A boating accident on the Detroit River has taken the life on one man.

Three men were in a boating when it slammed into a sea wall at around 10:45 p.m. on July 5. They were all thrown overboard.

Two of the men were swept downstream where they screamed for help. They were rescued shortly before 11:00 p.m.

The Dive team and U.S. Customs and Border Protection were all called out to help find the third boater. They retrieved his body around 2 a.m.

Police are not identifying the victim.
