Texas pastor Joel Osteen is lending a helping hand to the city of Detroit.
He and his wife Victoria took part in the Generation Hope Project today.
The Osteens joined hundreds of volunteers from around the nation to reach out to the city.
It was a "volunteer blitz" over two days.
Crews worked with local organizations like Forgotten Harvest, Impact Church and Habitat for Humanity Detroit.
Today's project is part of the activities surrounding this year's "America’s Night of Hope" -- which takes place at Comerica Park this Saturday.
Tickets for his event on Saturday are still available by visiting tigers.com.
