"All of a sudden, it's just a mad crime spree," said Timothy Sullivan in front of his home on Faust Street in Detroit's Warrendale neighborhood where police are investigating a series of burglaries. "I'm getting ready to have a guy install cameras and stuff because it's very frustrating."
The thieves are usually striking when people are away at work, and most of the homes they are targeting are on Faust and Penrod, according to Sullivan and a number of his neighbors who estimate there have been as many as nine burglaries in the last few days.
Sullivan's wife came home Monday and realized someone had broken into their garage.
And it was only after she went to Detroit's 6th Police Precinct and returned home that she realized that she might have walked in on the intruders inside their home before leaving to file a police report.
