Watchdog group fears bias in death investigation

Posted

The Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality wants the name of the Dearborn Police officer involved in the shooting death of 35-year-old Kevin Matthews released to the public.

And the police watchdog group wants Michigan State Police to be the only police agency investigating the case because they fear a bias.

Dearborn's Police Chief Ronald Haddad once worked for Detroit Police.

A spokesperson for Detroit Police tells 7 Action News that Haddad has no influence on how their investigation is conducted.
