When a president visits Detroit, he has to have lunch, right? President Barack Obama is visiting today and will soon check out the auto show. On his way there, he stopped for lunch in Midtown.
President Obama ate lunch at the Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria & Brewery on Canfield. The restaurant is the Detroit outpost of the Dexter-based brewer known for their sour beers.
We're told the president ate a JP Burger and truffle fries at Jolly Pumpkin.

Jolly Pumpkin is just a few doors down from the Shinola store where he also made a stop. Shinola is, of course, the watchmaker (and seller of bicycles and leather goods) that now makes watches in the city.
The President was joined at lunch by Mayor Mike Duggan, Shinola founder Tom Kartsotis, Dr. Tolulope Sonuyi, and Teana Dowdell.
According to pool reports, Dowdell is an union autoworker at the General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and Dr. Sonuyi is an emergency medical physician active in the My Brother's Keepers initiative.

When President Obama walked by Jack White's neighboring Third Man Records store, someone inside captured the moment in a photo that was later posted to Instagram:
