Several hundred Detroiters left in dark, cold after salt truck knocks out power

More than 1,300 people have had there power restored after several hours in the dark after a salt truck driver knocked down the lines.

It happened just before 6:00 p.m. in the area of West Davison and Lawton, where a salt truck lost control while clearing the streets.

The power was restored just an hour and a half later, after those DTE customers had spent several hours without electricity in freezing cold temperatures.

7 Action News spoke to several people affected, who said they left home to warm up in their cars and pick up hot pizza for this kids.

No one was injured in the accident.
