Another teacher sick-out is being planned for today at multiple Detroit Public Schools, according to Equal Opportunity Now/By Any Means Necessary (EON/BAMN).

According to the group, teachers from Bow Elementary and Mason Elementary schools will take part in the sick-out and "build for the city-wide day of action to stop Snyder's plan aimed at destroying Detroit Public Schools."

EON/BAMN said the participating teachers will hold a rally at 12 p.m. at the Fisher Building followed by a march down Woodward Ave.

“Detroit is once again standing up to fight to defend the right of public education, to demand real quality public education.” Jose Alvarenga, a BAMN organizer said in a release. “The only cure for the Snyder Flu is a strike, and we are committed to building a strike to win.”
